Mandatory Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance;
QC Laboratory operates 7 days a week. This position rotates between 3 schedules (5 x 8-hour shifts (Monday through Friday) and 3 x 12-hour shifts (Monday-Wednesday or Thursday through Saturday). You must have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, and nights). Overtime to meet production demand working hours and/or weekends.

What will you do?
Your job will be to carry out tests in the Quality Laboratory, ensuring that the products we produce meet target specifications and are suitable for their intended use.
More specifically you will:
- Perform laboratory technician duties (including but not limited to: incoming and finished product testing, in-process quality checks, durability testing, data entry, creating control charts, submitting shift reports, holding materials)
- Learn to use specialized laboratory equipment and tools to ensure, through verification and durability testing, that multiple secure documents and their constituent components meet specific product specifications and standards.
- Support other teams on projects (production, R&D) by managing/editing/validating data to ensure data is collected and used appropriately.
- Assist in maintaining the laboratory and its equipment; use 5S principles to ensure a clean, well-organized and safe environment that is suitable for visiting at all times; Coordinating the calibration and certification of laboratory equipment and manufacturing measuring instruments.
- Learn, grow and develop your knowledge and skills; so you can identify improvement opportunities and suggest process improvements that will positively impact quality levels and increase efficiency.
What Will Help You Be Successful?
Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment (printing, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, healthcare). We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, curious and interested in quality.
Experience in a production environment will be an asset.
Knowledge/Experience
- High proficiency in Office 365 (especially Excel and Word);
- Previous experience in statistical analysis (basic level)
- Previous experience in technical writing
- Previous experience in quality control is an asset but not required;
- Previous experience in the printing industry is an asset but not required.
