MediSystem is a division of Shoppers Drug Mart and is a specialty pharmacy that has been serving seniors in long-term care and retirement homes across Ontario for over 24 years. We currently serve more than 40,000 seniors across Canada. MediSystem is part of the Shoppers Drug Mart network of more than 1,400 stores.

What you will need to succeed as a Pharmacy Assistant:
- No experience in pharmacy required
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills
- attention to detail
- Ability to maneuver quickly and consistently for extended periods of time
- Being adaptable – You can work in different departments to support workflow.
- Problem solving and decision making skills
As a Pharmacy assistant you will learn the following functions and can assist in other areas as needed.
- Transport
- Follow the step-by-step workflow process to prepare packages for shipment
- Working with a team, you will use an automated process to package orders for nursing homes and have them ready for delivery.
- Investigate orders and troubleshoot issues to ensure orders ship on time
Any or all of the following are preferred to help you stand out
- high school diploma
- Kroll software experience
- Pharmacy experience with Long Term Care

This role requires employees to be flexible enough to work a variety of shifts throughout the business’s working hours, including occasional weekend shifts and statutory holidays.
