Teledyne Lumenera designs and manufactures Embedded Vision Systems and standalone industrial and scientific camera products that require stringent product validation and requirements verification. As a member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will lead the development of validation strategies focused on automated regression environments, perform testing and validation on new products including hardware, firmware, and software release candidates, and assist with the optical and mechanical aspects of new products.

Position Summary and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President of Production, the officer will perform various duties related to the planning of production structures for Lumenera cameras. Teledyne Lumenera attaches great importance to producing quality products and establishing and maintaining good customer relationships. The person hired for this position will strive to help us achieve these goals throughout their daily work.

Responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Responsible for developing production schedule and production plan consistent with finished product demand, resource availability and inventory level objectives
  • Work with Production Team Leader to meet planning and production needs
  • Analyze production requirements and facility capacity to determine both immediate and future human resource requirements
  • Organizing raw material issues to suppliers in accordance with inventory policies and production schedule requirements
  • Weekly review of inventory based on planned consumption, working with Supply Chain Specialist to create purchase orders when necessary
  • Interface with the Storage Team to proactively resolve potential Material Kit issues
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring orders are scheduled within 24 – 48 hours of receipt
  • Communicate expected delays/deviations to all stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Maintain a level-loaded capacity plan
  • Manage structure and capacity plan to meet customer committed shipping dates while working with stakeholders
  • Maintain stock levels of finished products required to meet business objectives
  • Analyze sales forecast and highlight capacity or material constraints
  • Hold weekly production planning meetings with the order fulfillment team to review and highlight issues with the current schedule
  • Analyze inventory and capacity levels based on historical usage and projected demand. Use this information to:
  • Maintain planning parameters in ERP system
  • Provide sales team with lead time quotes for potential orders based on material availability and capacity
  • Evaluate the overall planning process and make recommendations consistent with continuous improvement goals
  • Acting as buyer for consumables and subcontracted products. This includes:
    o Creation of purchase orders according to MRP results
    o Coordinating supplier meetings to analyze and discuss performance/delivery schedule
    o Communicating any supply issues that may affect business operations

Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience participating in process improvement initiatives
  • Able to use and work with ERP/MRP systems effectively
  • Experience reading, approving and implementing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to share information and perspectives openly and directly with others.
  • Strong organizational/time management skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Solid problem-solving and prioritization skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortably use Microsoft Office (especially Excel/Outlook)
  • Self-starter, ability to multitask, strong leadership abilities
  • Solution-focused approach to problems that arise with excellent follow-up skills to ensure problems are resolved

Experience using SAP ERP system
Advanced Excel skills with data analysis experience
APICS certification/registration
