Position Title: Business Data Analyst-Tuition and Fees
Situation: Annex D Contract
Hour: 35 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Registry Office
Campus/Location: North Campus
Wage: Band H Min $33.38 Maximum $38.75
What you will do:
Reporting to the Administrator, Registrar’s Office Fees, Business Data Analyst – Tuition and Fees works closely with all academic faculties and many non-academic departments to establish and complete processes related to the creation of student fees. Incidental fees and all other fees collected through the Registrar’s Office in the Banner Student system. This requires the incumbent to understand and interpret Department policy regarding tuition and fees; Have a comprehensive understanding of accounts receivable practices; Maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of Banner training and fee tables; transaction fees for student accounts and collection of student account receivables. Under the guidance of the Administrator, the incumbent will work independently and must make decisions that may affect student finances, academic faculty and departmental processes, and ultimately the financial health of the College. To create a stable, open and transparent fee environment, the Business Data Analyst – Tuition and Fees must work across the university to collect and maintain reports and documents such as the Master Humber College Fee Document. The incumbent is expected to collaborate frequently with the Fees, Audit and Reporting Coordinator.
Records and Registration Coordinators and Financial Services; It will solve all kinds of problems related to fees, registration and financial audits, student records and registration.
What do you bring to the role:
Education
The successful incumbent obtains a 3-year diploma/degree or equivalent in the following fields of study: Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science or related educational program and is working towards an accounting designation at the final certification levels for: CGA, CM, CA or CPA.
Experience
The incumbent must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience working in student fee collection or accounting.
Abilities
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, collections, payments, general accounting procedures and internal controls;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes;
- Solid understanding of the post-secondary system;
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel;
- Demonstrated proficiency in student information systems, particularly relational databases;
- Ability to work in a highly automated environment Leadership skills and ability to work independently;
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.

- Must have a suitable and dedicated work area for taking calls from home/remote.
- Since we are currently using a hybrid approach, working from home/remote and on-site should be comfortable. There may be changes to this approach depending on the guidance of government officials and public health.
