Wage: $28.15 per hour
Aim:
Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and facilities to enhance the student experience and support York University’s mission, vision and priorities. Safely transporting community members on and off campus and utilizing large coaches efficiently .
Education:
Must possess valid Ontario Class ‘C’ license and Air Brake Certificate (‘Z’ endorsement) in good standing. Must have a good driving record and have the ability to operate vehicles safely.
Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of current experience operating large coaches (as defined within the last 5 years) is required. One (1) year of recent experience in customer service
Abilities:
The attendant receives and transmits messages via two-way radios in vehicles, greets customers, conveys important information to passengers, answers questions, etc. Must have demonstrated ability to speak, read, write and understand English to provide excellent customer service such as. Must be able to operate a mobile device to respond to calls and verify passenger reservations. Respects diversity and promotes inclusion in the workplace, contributing to a positive work environment that is inclusive and diverse. Recognizes diversity of talent and adapts content, tone, medium and style to the audience to be inclusive. Committed to continuous learning and skill development in diversity, inclusion and cultural competency.
Additional Notes:
Notes: Must be able to lift and load heavy materials. Basic French language skills are desirable. Successful candidates must satisfactorily complete all compulsory University study sessions. The successful candidate for this position will be required to work shifts as assigned. Please note: This position requires the candidate to present a valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory Driving Record and Vulnerable Sector Check. satisfactory by the University before starting work.
